Secure Document Upload in Secure Chat (Patient View)
Secure Document Upload in Secure Chat (Patient Experience)
Your patients can now securely upload and send documents directly through Secure Chat. This feature allows patients to share files such as IDs, insurance cards, medical documents, photos, and other supporting materials through a HIPAA-compliant channel.
This update enhances your patients’ ability to provide necessary information without phone calls, emails, or in-clinic visits — while keeping all data safe and compliant.
What Your Patients Will See
The Secure Document Upload Button
When patients open Secure Chat, they will see a paperclip icon below the message box on the left side..png?table=block&id=26107a67-0643-8000-95c6-c804022468a1&spaceId=c4842ec7-5ac7-4dd1-ab7f-e0ca4e5949b3&width=1420&userId=&cache=v2)
How Patients Upload a File
1. Click the Paperclip Icon
Patients tap or click the Secure Document Upload paperclip button below the message field.
2. Select a File
The system will open their device’s file picker.
Patients can browse and choose a document, photo, or other supported file.
3. Review the File in a Modal
After selecting a file, a review window opens where patients can (optionally):
-
Add a File Name
-
Add a Description
These fields help your staff understand the file’s purpose, but they’re optional.
4. Click Upload
Once they click Upload, the file immediately appears in the Secure Chat thread — just like a sent message.
Your staff will see the uploaded file on your end in real time.
